Yet He Opened Not His Mouth

"He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth." Isaiah 53:7

When I really 'heard' this scripture, it spoke volumes to me of the character of Jesus Christ.

I let myself imagine what that must have felt like to know you were going to die a brutal death, to know you held all power in your hands to stop it, to know you could call and within moments be saved from the horrible fate.

But He walked on in silence; never disputing what He knew needed to be done.
