Justified
The Magnificent Defeat

"1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God." Romans 5:1-2

How many times did I read these verses or hear them preached before they really hit home to me on a personal level? It wasn't until I got tired of the enemy smacking me down with shame that I began to grab hold of what these verses are saying.

I realized I didn't have to take the enemies lip anymore. I realized that Jesus Christ had bought the right for me to stand proudly and shamelessly, even when I stumbled, even when I sinned. Once I repented, I didn't have to continue beating myself up for the same crime over and over and over again. The Lord had taken my penance for me.
