Build a Cheap House
“Say what? Earthbag Houses?” Yes!
Are you ready to be introduced to one of the
most brilliant, in-expensive ways to own your
own house without some long term, debt to your
eyeballs payment plan? Well keep reading
because things are about to get mighty dirty
around here!
Okay, first of all, what in the world is an
Earth…bag…House? Are we in the jungle all
of a sudden? No, not the African kind…but
many of us are in some pretty wild jungles of
our own called debt, and if you’re like I am,
you’re probably looking for a way back to mental
civilization, right?
Well, Earthbag Homes may just be your ticket
there.
Earthbag Homes were first introduced by
architect Nader Khalili who had the vision of
bringing a form of low-income living to
Americans.
After a successful trip to Iran where he taught
the skill of mud house building, Nader brought
his knowledge back with him and created the
Earthbag build for cheap house construction.
Why earth bags?
Hmmm…I’ll give you one hint…cheap as dirt.
Build a Cheap House - Earthbag style!
By gathering old sand bags discarded from sand
companies and piping them full of the dirt
underneath your very own feet, stacked together,
these sand bags work astronomically well as a
solid; live able and water proof abodes.
Sand bags are, after all, used for constructing
massive flood walls and such…makes sense to me!
Usually constructed in a large bee-hive manner,
these structures can take on any form the
builder chooses and can look quite beautiful.
(Your wallet will look pretty pleasing as well
in its fat and full state, a nice bonus.)

substance…a little more, dirt? Keep on

Note:
Though this may not be for everyone, for those
that don’t mind taking a more creative out of
the box approach to home sweet home, this is a
wonderful and versatile option.
“I have three precious things which I hold fast
and prize. The first is gentleness; the second
is frugality; the third is humility, which keeps
me from putting myself before others. Be gentle
and you can be bold; be frugal and you can be
liberal; avoid putting yourself before others
and you can become a leader among men.”
― Lao
Tzu
“Frugality is one of the most beautiful and
joyful words in the English language, and yet
one that we are culturally cut off from
understanding and enjoying. The consumption
society has made us feel that happiness lies in
having things, and has failed to teach us the
happiness of not having things.”
